Tourism HR Action Plan: Regional Industry Consultations

Share your input on how go2 should strategically address the labour issues identified by the industry. The roundtable sessions will take place across the six regions: Vancouver, Coast & Mountains, Vancouver Island, Thompson Okanagan, Kootenay Rockies, Cariboo Chilcotin, and North & North Coast.

Start Date/Term: Mid-June to mid-July 2011. Please feel free to contact us if you have specific questions, or fill out the form to apply now.

Tourism Career Awareness Program (TCAP) Speakers' Bureau

Are you passionate about your career working in tourism? If so, we would like to hear from you! We are looking for experienced people in all occupations to inspire high school students and other job seekers to learn about and pursue careers in tourism. There are opportunities in all regions to participate. Training and a PowerPoint presentation are provided.

Start Date/Term: Ongoing – flexible, you can do as many or few presentations as fits your schedule. Please feel free to contact us if you have specific questions, or fill out the form to apply now.

WII-Step Advisory Committee

Be a part of a new employer-driven pilot program created as a lasting legacy of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, to accelerate the inclusion of persons with disabilities working in the tourism industry. The pilot currently runs in the Lower Mainland only (Whistler to Hope), so we are looking for strategic-minded individuals from this region. Experience and knowledge of recruitment and management related to persons with disabilities is preferred, and we are currently seeking additional representation from restaurants/food and beverage, ski/recreation and attractions.

Start Date/Term: ASAP – May 2012, with quarterly meetings approximately 3 hours/quarter. Please feel free to contact us if you have specific questions, or fill out the form to apply now.
