The BC Chapter of National Golf Course Owners Association Canada and go2 teamed up at the 2008-2009 BC career fairs. The two associations participated in five career fairs across BC, promoting awareness of the wide variety of career options in the golf industry. A web portal on go2's website, golf.go2hr.ca, was created to provide detailed information on the industry.
Career fairs included: Fraser Valley Education and Career Fair; Vancouver Island Education and Career Fair; Vancouver Education and Career Fair; Kamloops Education and Career Fair; and Okanagan Education and Career Fair.
In total, go2 and the NGCOA directly reached an estimated 1,500 students. Students also had the opportunity to meet and speak with industry professionals.
The wide range of career experiences makes BC’s golf industry a fun and exciting option for students considering a career in tourism. It provides opportunities for people with different skills, knowledge and training.
