The Vancouver Attractions Group and local tourism attractions across BC partnered with go2 at the 2010-2011 career fairs. We participated in five career fairs promoting awareness of careers and job opportunities in the attractions sector. A web portal on go2's website, attractions.go2hr.ca, was created to provide detailed information about the industry.
In early December 2010, go2 attended the Fraser Valley Education and Career Fair in Abbotsford and Vancouver Island Education and Career Fair in Victoria. go2 then went to another three Education and Career Fairs in January 2011 in Vancouver, Kamloops and Kelowna.
Visitor attractions offer guests family fun, adventure, entertainment, culture and a look into our history. This diverse sector calls for a broad and varied need for skilled and unskilled labour. In total, go2 and local employers directly reached an estimated 1,000 students, who had the opportunity to learn about the various occupations available in the tourism attractions sector.
