Golf Course Groundsperson

A golf course groundsperson maintains landscape sites on the golf course to ensure golf playing conditions at a high standard. This position reports to the golf course grounds manager and/or the assistant superintendent.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate turf equipment such as mowers
  • Plant and maintain ornamental shrubs and trees which includes appropriate pruning, trimming, feeding and pest control
  • Prepare soil plant beds, establishes by seed or transplants and maintains annual and perennial flowers in aesthetic arrangements
  • Perform other maintenance duties as directed by the grounds manager

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in gardening and landscaping
  • Ability to work independently
  • Be reliable and dependable
  • Good communication skills
  • Have a positive attitude
  • Knowledge of irrigation systems an asset
  • Experience and knowledge of golf course operation an asset
  • Enthusiasm for golf an asset
  • Pesticide Applicator certification an asset
  • Valid driver’s license
