New program for people with disabilities to work in tourism and hospitality
The tourism industry values a diverse, inclusive workplace, and we are pleased to announce a new pilot program that’s now available in the Lower Mainland, the Workforce Inclusion Initiative (WII-STEP).
How WII-STEP can help:
This initiative is intended for people with disabilities who are qualified and job-ready for positions at specific employers we work with.
- It connects qualified, job-ready candidates with employers and current employment opportunities
- It provides assistance with reasonable workplace accommodations, if required.
To be eligible for this initiative, you must be:
- legally qualified to work in Canada,
- prepared to identify the nature of your disability
- willing to let us know how to bring out the best of your abilities in the position you are applying for.
- bondable for many occupations.
Visit Career Opportunities to explore employment opportunities for which WII-STEP is currently recruiting.
What can WII-STEP do for me?
WII-STEP works with you and potential employers to find the right fit. We assess available positions and check facilities to find an opportunity that fits your needs.
We have a number of options available for eligible candidates and welcome an opportunity to meet with you. Please contact us today.
WII-STEP is a collaborative effort between go2 and the British Columbia Construction Association's Skilled Trades Employment Program (STEP). It is a legacy of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, made possible by funding from 2010 Legacies Now and the Government of British Columbia.
