About BIJOB
BIJOB, the Brussels International Jobcentre, is the international employment centre of the Brussels public employment service (ACTIRIS). BIJOB has access to an extensive database of multi-lingual job seekers looking for work abroad and is daily in contact with employers (from abroad) interested in recruiting candidates from the Brussels Capital Region.
Currently there are approximately 3,500 job seekers registered in the BIJOB database who are interested in a job in Canada.
What BIJOB Can Do for You
Publishing your vacancies
If you want to advertise a job opening with BIJOB, you can email your job vacancy to bijob@actiris.be. To do this please fill in its standard Job Application Form, which you can download on the website or send BIJOB all the particulars required in the form.
The candidates looking for a job abroad will consult the available vacancies advertised on the following websites: www.bijob.be, www.actiris.be and through the self-service computer booths at all ACTIRIS agencies.
Approximately 220,000 jobseekers visit monthly the websites of ACTIRIS and BIJOB.
Selection of candidates
BIJOB acts as the mediator between the employers and the candidates, and assists the employers (Belgian and foreign) when they want to extend their recruitment area outside the national borders.
BIJOB advisors centralize all applications. BIJOB can make specific selection in the ACTIRIS database and target only the Brussels candidates wishing to live and work in Canada.
Jobdatings
BIJOB can also organize “jobdatings” (large scale recruitment fairs) in the ACTIRIS offices located in the centre of Brussels for face-to-face meetings with candidates. BIJOB will shortlist and invite the candidates, and advertise these recruitment fairs.
Language tests
For specific language requirements, the candidates can take a test in the Language Cornet of ACTIRIS (in English, French, Dutch and/or German). These tests evaluate the language skills of the candidates.
Information and Guidance for the Candidates
BIJOB provides information to interested candidates on how to prepare for the living and working conditions in Canada before leaving abroad.
On the BIJOB website, job seekers can download the brochure "Living and Working in Canada" and access several useful websites .
