The Squamish Chamber of Commerce has a Temporary Full-Time Special Events Coordinator & Administration position available (One year maternity leave).

This is a very exciting and highly sought after position that interacts with our members and the community on a continual basis:

  • Reports directly to the Chamber Manager.
  • Coordinating the day to day operation of the Chamber Office and assist the Chamber Manager with ongoing and new projects and initiatives that benefit our Investors (membership).
  • Handles all email correspondence and telephone inquires and responds in a timely and professional manner.
  • Direct liaison with Investors (Members) to ensure that the Chamber is meeting their needs and communicating benefits and current news consistently.
  • Manage the ongoing process of signing up new investors and sending out investment renewals.
  • Consistent account follow up and collections; creating invoices and generating receipts in Simply Accounting.
  • Booking, planning and executing all Chamber Events ranging from monthly luncheons, Chamber After 5’s, Annual Golf Tournament, Business Trade Show and President’s Gala. Some evening and weekend commitment required.
  • General administration including ordering office supplies, filing, creating documents such as the weekly newsletter and various special projects as required.
  • Full Website Administrator accountability.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Start Date: February 1st, 2010
 
Job Requirements  

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in event planning required.
  • Superior administration, demonstrated organizational, time management skills with a professional and friendly demeanor a must.
  • Ability to work as part of a dedicated team in a complex environment essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, HTML, Simply Accounting and Publisher required.
 
Salary Salary: $15.00 - $17.00 hourly depending on experience and qualifications. Overtime on evenings and weekends when required.
