Holiday Inn Hotel North Vancouver is looking for a Sales Manager with the responsibility of soliciting new clients as well as maintaining existing relationships.

This individual must have excellent communication and customer service skills with knowledge of the Hotel Industry and possess commands a strong knowledge of the tourism trends of the lower mainland.

Responsibilities:

  • Able to successfully solicit, negotiate and secure new accounts as well as maintain current client relationships within the various market segments
  • Responsible for recommending strategies to develop new business opportunities within these markets
  • Responsible to make Action Plans to prospect for new business opportunities and maintain established accounts within the Group market
  • Recommend revenue producing ideas and implementing activities to support goals of the team
  • Prepare Production reports (ie: weekly and monthly) as well as prepare annual marketing plan
  • Set weekly action plans and goals for prospecting, sales calls, competition awareness and ensure these are met
  • Achieve and exceed revenue goals 
  • Able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate meeting with potential guests and clients
  • Have a strong presence in the local market area by participation in FAMS, Tradeshows, Local Chamber and Industry events
  • Participate in activities both inside and outside the hotel environment via networking and building new relationships in order to secure new business partners
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Hotel PMS systems is an asset
 
Job Requirements  
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 year's sales experience in a similar position. Catering experience is an asset.
  • Highly motivated individual who is able to find and then successfully prospect for new clients thus expanding our existing account base.
  • Main relationships existing accounts and guests.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle.
  • Individual must be able to multi task, work under pressure especially meet tight deadlines for proposal submissions to potential clients.
  • Willing to travel over weekends to attend shows, events, and training workshops.
  • Individual with experience in the Group market segment an asset.
  • Posses strong communication, organizational and presentation skills.
  • Must be a team player and able to work with members of the various operations.
