Boulevard Casino is currently recruiting for three guest services driven Commis Chefs to join our exciting Metro Bistro Team. Under the supervision of the Sous Chef these individuals will be responsible for the preparation of food items, maintaining company standards through adherence to all safety and hygiene policies and procedures, and taking orders from casino guests when needed.

On a typical day you will:

• Prepare, pre-cooked and/or cooked food products as directed
• Prepare mis en place (“setting in place” of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery, etc) and other products as required for high volume production
• Clean kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures
• Receive stock from Receiving Operations, labels, dates, stores and rotates in appropriate storage areas
• Take casino guests orders over the counter, and enter into a point of sale system
• Count inventory as directed
• Attend monthly culinary meetings
• Liaise and communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments
• Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests, ownership and employees)
• Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed

Education and Qualification Requirements:

• Minimum 6 months to 1 year of culinary experience
• Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills
• Culinary education an asset
• Enrollment or completion of the ITA apprentice program a plus
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
• Level 1 Food Safe Certification
• Serving it Right Certification
• Providing a Great Experience and Memory to all guests, both external and internal
