July 11, 2011 - The 2011 Canadian Tourism Awards, presented by the Toronto Star, is now open for nominations. The Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) is pleased to introduce several exciting new categories for 2011: the Social Media Initiative of the Year Award, the Community Service Award, and the Traveller Experience Award. It is also re-introducing the slightly tweaked Business of the Year and Small or Medium-Sized Business of the Year Awards.
The 2011 categories are:
- The Air Canada Business of the Year Award
- The Hilton Family of Hotels Group Canada Small or Medium Business of the Year Award
- The New Business of the Year Award
- The Corporate Partner of the Year Award
- The Community Service Award
- The Innovator of the Year Award
- The Metro Toronto Convention Centre Event of the Year Award
- The Marketing Campaign of the Year Award
- The WestJet Social Media Initiative of the Year Award
- The Parks Canada Sustainable Tourism Award
- The Employee of the Year Award
- The Traveller Experience Award
- The National Cultural Tourism Award
- The CTHRC Award for Excellence in Human Resource Development
