Awards, Bursaries and Scholarships

Universities, colleges and associations in BC offer various awards, bursaries and scholarships to eligible students who are, or are interested in, enrolling in tourism training programs.

To demystify the terminology, we offer the following definitions:

  • Award: May refer to either financial or non-monetary recognition of ability, and may be in the form of a bursary, grant, loan, prize or scholarship
  • Bursary: A non-repayable sum of money presented to an eligible student who has demonstrated financial need and a satisfactory academic record
  • Scholarship: A non-repayable sum of money presented to an eligible student who has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement
