The 2006 CATT Scholarship of $500 has been awarded to Alana Christine Pearson, graduate of Highland Secondary School, Comox, BC on behalf of go2.

Alana was a Gold Graduate of the Travel and Tourism Academy at Highland Secondary School. She completed her grad requirements in January and has been working in the restaurant at the Kingfisher Resort since then.
In April she received the ‘Tourism Leaders Of Tomorrow’ award, from the Comox Valley Tourism Association.
Alana was notified of winning this award at her graduation ceremony this past week. Robert Thompson, a coordinator for the Canadian Academy of Travel & Tourism at Highland, made the presentation and will be handing Alana her cheque this week.
Alana has been accepted into the Hotel and Restaurant Management program at Camosun College. go2 congratulates Alana and wishes her all the best in her education and career in the Tourism industry.
Along with Alana, there were two other British Columbia Secondary School graduates who were recipients of a 2006 CATT Scholarship. Brandon Lee Oxenbury, a graduate from Quesnel Secondary received a CATT Scholarship and Sandra Gang Nguyen, a graduate from Prince George Secondary, received The Canadá en Español Network Tourism Scholarship. Congratulations to all the CATT Scholarship recipients.
Annually a scholarship of $500.00 is awarded by go2 to a student who has graduated from a Canadian Academy of Travel and Tourism program (Gold level) in a BC secondary school and is registered in a BC post-secondary tourism or hospitality related program (such as a 10 month cook training program, a post-secondary one year certificate program or two year diploma program or a university degree program.)
