The Bug Zoo ™ is a leader in the Edu-tainment space and the first of its kind when it opened in 1997. The business is a combination of fun and education for people of all ages. Its goal is to be family friendly, interactive and unforgettable by showcasing some of the world’s most unusual, unique and interesting animals – giant tropical insects from the jungles all around the world! The animals (“bugs”) in the zoo are all living. The tours are presented in a down to earth way for everyone to enjoy, offering an exciting “bug holding experience”. Imagine holding a stick insect, millipede or tarantula?! The giftshop is designed to be an “experience” and offers merchandise that is fun, funky and far-out for the curious shopper looking for a gift or souvenir. There is an admission fee to the Zoo.

The Bug Zoo Foundation is the second arm to the corporation which raises funds for entomological education and an eco-center in French Guiana that will allow visitors to learn in a “living lab” about the jungle insects and arachnids.

The Pop Up Shops are creative but simplified retail versions of the principal operation. These smaller outlets build awareness and give the general public a taste of what the Bug Zoo is all about… by carrying a variety of interesting and fun merchandise to ensure people are engaged and thinking about the wondering world of insects and arachnids. There is no admission fee for viewing the sampling of live critters at the Pop Up Shop. Sales and fundraising are the main goals at the Pop Up Shops.
