About Us
Ocean Island Inn | Backpackers | Suites opened in 1999 in a fully renovated 1891 heritage building close to all the action of the city as well as wonderful parks, the beach, and hiking trails. We also have a second smaller location; independent apartment suites in a historic house. We are a family-owned business with approximately 25 employees. Our mission is to provide a friendly and welcoming home away from home to a wide variety of travelers from around the world for a bargain price. We offer 80 rooms at the Inn, which includes both private rooms and dormitories and can accommodate 185 people nightly. We also provide ancillary services and have a license cafe, which hosts a variety of live music and events.
