About Us

The Dirty Apron Cooking School is Vancouver’s favourite culinary playground, a place for amateur cooks, the curious and professionals alike to learn, explore, and unleash their inner chef.

Born out of a passion for great food the school is owned by former Chambar Sous-Chef David Robertson and his wife Sara. David has a formidable background in classic French cuisines and teaches the majority of the classes, with guest and celebrity chef appearances peppered throughout the year.

Instruction focuses on popular regional cuisines as well as basic skill sets for ingredient-focused cooking. Students use only the best tools of the trade thanks to partnerships with All Clad cookware, Wusthof knives, Wolf ranges, and Sub Zero fridges.

The cooking classes offered are hands-on and designed to walk students through each step towards crafting a complete meal. Our classes feature various themes and are approximately four hours in length. We also provide private cooking classes to large groups.

The Dirty Apron Delicatessen is Crosstown’s neighbourhood gourmet deli. A great place to stop for lunch or pick up supplies for your next intimate gathering. Shop our selection of fine cheeses and charcuterie as well as Dirty Apron signature preserves, local ice creams, homemade sauces and pre-packaged to-go meals. With creative sandwiches and salads made daily with local fresh ingredients, there’s always something to suit any pallet. Pay us a visit and satisfy your epicuriousity.

The Dirty Apron is also available for all your catering needs. Impress your guests with gourmet dishes, salads and canapés perfect for large groups or gatherings as small as ten people. With a seasonally changing menu crafted by Chef David Robertson to reflect the best local produce, the Dirty Apron lets you relax while we do all the work.
