Job Description

Whistler Sport Legacies is a not-for-profit organization responsible for the operation of the 2010 Olympic legacy facilities Whistler Sliding Centre, Whistler Olympic Park and the Whistler Athletes’ Centre. True to its mission to grow sport, the organization fosters public participation in sports, and maintains world-class training and competition facilities for athletes, with the vision of creating an international centre for sports excellence.

Coordinator, Accounts Receivable – Maternity Leave is responsible for accounts receivable invoicing and collections, monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations, overseeing daily revenue audit and analytical reporting for Whistler Sport Legacies in the Finance Department.

This temporary full time maternity leave role (approximately 12 to 18 months) may require the flexibility at WSL’s request to work weekends, statutory holidays, and evenings based on operational requirements.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Accounts Receivable invoicing and collections
• Month end reconciliations including all bank and balance sheet accounts
• Miscellaneous monthly journal entries
• Provide financial analysis support for all WSL venues utilizing POS system reporting tools including preparation of the Daily Sales and Labour Report
• Advise on set-up of all new POS and e-commerce items
• Complete annual external audit working papers including reconciliations for AR Control account and subledger as well as POS revenue analysis
• Champion and adhere to all WSL corporate policies, procedures, and contribute to the development of Finance Department policies and procedures
• Ensure an effective information flow between Finance Department and other WSL departments to ensure the seamless delivery of initiatives

• Take personal accountability and responsibility for actions; take initiative to find creative solutions to problems or issues
• Support alignment and achievement of WSL’s vision, mission and goals
• Positive representative of Whistler Sport Legacies, both internally and externally
• Flexible to assist the team and WSL departments with other activities, duties or initiatives as assigned or required
• Act proactively in communicating the services provided and projects being undertaken by the Finance department
• Carry out Whistler Sport Legacies’ AIM philosophy: All Interactions Matter
• Assist team with other duties as assigned or required

Position Requirements
• 3+ years general accounting or accounts receivable experience required including bank and AR reconciliations
• College diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in accounting preferred

• Exceptional interpersonal, organizational skills, accurate, and detail-oriented
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and pivot tables, Word, Outlook, and working knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains, Siriusware and Ariett procurement software preferred
• Proven ability to maintain high-level of confidentiality
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well in a dynamic, fast paced, team environment as part of a team and unsupervised
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Logical and objective with a good understanding of the business environment
• Ability to multi-task and effectively meet deadlines
• Willingness to assist other team members, perhaps outside the department, as requested
• Exceptional customer service is essential


$56,000/year start wage plus benefits
