Start Date: January 10, 2024
Work Hours: Full time, Year round
Location: Hybrid of remote and in-office
Compensation: range of $75,000 – $80,000 annual salary + Benefits + Sales Incentives
Reports to: General Manager, Gray Line Westcoast Sightseeing & Director of MS, CTCE

Relying on your already established knowledge of the Vancouver travel trends and dynamic nature of our tourism industry, you establish and implement strategic sales plans for the local market and determine short and long-term tactics to achieve targets and maximize market share. Your role oversees the division Manager’s creation of revenue goals and sales targets where you provide the necessary support to allow the team to develop professionally and achieve the set objectives. You supervise prompt communication and guest satisfaction for all sales channels including receptive tour operator and online travel agents.
You act as an ambassador of our values and mission in promoting the reputation of our company within the business community and among important tourism stakeholders. You bring a passion for mentorship with proven experience in selling, a guest focus, a strategic mind backed by an analytical eye. Responsibilities & Qualifications
YOUR WORK WILL INCLUDE
– Responsible for all sales, sales teams, training, and obtaining revenue goals for the company
– Develop an overall plan with the sales team in which you will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of all components related to the local market sales channels which include our guest service centre, street sales team, port operations team and hotel affiliate teams
– Analyze existing sales objectives, strategies, tactics and performance with an eye for improvement
– Manage the sales budget and contribute to annual budget planning
– Contribute to the development and implementation of sales offers and promotional tactics
– Collaborate with the Division Sales Managers to measure success among their teams and work together to develop incentive programs for staff to help drive sales
– Assist with the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of all sales team members
– Conduct Product Knowledge training sessions for resellers, team members, local clients, and partners, such as Destination Vancouver
– Formulate and culture comprehensive partnerships with stakeholders, activity suppliers and community partners to gain industry knowledge, drive sales, negotiate rates, create campaigns, and increase leads
– Represent the company through local market industry meetings and community events to promote our brand, reputation, social purpose, products, and services
– Ensure that business is conducted with integrity, high quality guest service and that behaviour aligns with company values
– Counsel for communication and teamwork
WHAT WE WILL LIKE ABOUT YOU
– You have a bachelor’s degree in travel and tourism, or a combination of 5+ years of relevant education and experience in the tourism industry
– You have proven success in creating and delivering a sales plan inclusive of realistic goals, tracking of sales, commission structure and training

– You possess managerial experience with strong interpersonal and communication skills
– You are a creative, strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

– You work effectively both independently and within a team
– Respects diversity of perspectives in discussions and demonstrates an inclusive style
– Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
– Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
– Strong knowledge of Downtown Vancouver and surrounding areas
– You love Vancouver and want to share it with the world
