Job Description

Hotel Grand Pacific has an exciting opportunity available for a Director of Sales & Marketing. Proudly affiliated with Preferred Hotels & Resorts, we are a full-service hotel located on Victoria’s beautiful inner harbour in the heart of the tourism zone. Our independent hotel is home to the stunning Victoria Athletic Club and the gorgeous Fathom Restaurant and Lounge.

With a proven track record within the hospitality and tourism industries, the Director of Sales & Marketing will:
• Maximize all marketing opportunities for the Hotel, Athletic Club, Fathom and other outlets
• Meet and exceed budgeted guest room revenues by selling and promoting rooms and meeting facilities
• Lead and motivate a dynamic sales team, recruiting new team members when required and supporting professional growth
• Ensure that the hotel is well placed with reservation systems, tourism directories, consortiums, wholesalers, online travel agencies and any other booking channels
• Coordinate the creation, design, implementation, and distribution of guest packages for Food & Beverage and the Athletic Club
• Oversee and guide the Marketing Coordinator on activities including production of in-house promotional pieces, social media content, and website and database maintenance
• Build excellent relationships within the community, participate in local events, and be an active member in local tourism and business organizations
• Prepare a yearly room revenue budget and the annual Sales & Marketing plan

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:
• A minimum of 8 years’ sales experience in a hotel environment, preferably with experience leading a sales & marketing team
• An even-keeled problem solver with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• A natural motivator with demonstrated experience developing talent and leading teams to achieve 5-star service
• Client-focused and able to build strong relationships
• Professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent planning skills and the flexibility to meet changing needs
• Solid knowledge of social media channels
• Experience with Revenue Management
• University or College degree in Hospitality Management an asset
