Introduction

The Similkameen Country Development Association (SCDA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering economic growth and community development in Keremeos and the surrounding areas. We are seeking proposals from qualified consultants to undertake a comprehensive analysis of the economic landscape of Keremeos and Area (Hedley, Olalla, Cawston), identifying growth opportunities and developing strategic plans to attract, retain, and expand businesses.

Our organization was awarded $16,000.00 for this project by the Economic Trust of the Southern Interior (ETSI-BC).

Project Overview

The Keremeos & Area Economic Vitality Initiative aims to provide a detailed analysis of the current economic conditions and identify actionable strategies for economic development. This project will engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including local businesses, community members, and First Nations groups, to ensure a holistic approach to economic vitality.

Scope of Work

Economic Analysis:

Conducting a thorough analysis of the current economic landscape of Keremeos and the surrounding area.
Identifying key economic sectors, market trends, and potential growth areas.
Stakeholder Engagement:

Engaging with local stakeholders, including businesses, residents, local government and First Nations representatives, to gather insights and perspectives.
Facilitating community meetings, surveys, and focus groups to ensure broad-based input.
Strategy Development:

Developing strategies to attract, retain, and expand businesses in Keremeos and the surrounding area.
Recommending specific initiatives and actions to enhance economic vitality.
Providing a roadmap for implementation, including next steps, timelines and resource requirements.
Reporting and Presentation:

Preparing a comprehensive report detailing findings, strategies, and recommendations.
Presenting the final report to the SCDA staff & Board of Directors.
Proposal Requirements

Executive Summary: A brief overview of the proposal and key qualifications.
Company Profile (optional): Information about the consulting firm, including relevant experience and expertise.
Team Composition: A description of the project team, including key personnel and their qualifications.
Project Approach and Methodology: A detailed description of the approach and methodology to be used in the economic analysis, stakeholder engagement, and strategy development.
Timeline: A proposed timeline for completing the project, including key milestones and deliverables.
Budget: A detailed budget, including a breakdown of costs for each phase of the project. Proposals exceeding $16,000.00 will not be considered.
