We are now inviting enthusiastic, passionate individuals to join our event staff team and be part of the excitement during Canucks games, Warriors games, and concerts at Rogers Arena. We can’t wait to meet you!

POSITION SUMMARY:

Our Event Security are an integral part of our event operations team, as they are responsible for ensuring the safety of our guests and employees during hockey and lacrosse games and concerts at Rogers Arena. Applicants must possess (or be in the process of obtaining) a valid security license and be available for a two-day mandatory training session. This is a part-time, hourly, events-based position.

A typical shift includes:

-Ensuring the safety of our guests and employees by dealing with alcohol, loss prevention, and crowd management-related issues
-Directing and assisting our guests with any service-related issues
-Communicating with coworkers and other departments via radio
-Other duties as required

Responsibilities & Qualifications

-Must possess a valid Security License
-Must be able to work weeknights, weekends, and holidays with a start time of approximately 5:30pm
-Must be able to physically manage an unruly guest
-Must be able to handle periodic lifting requirements of approximately 30 lbs. of weight (e.g., assist with strollers, wheelchairs, etc.)
-Must be able to stand, walk, and ascend stairs for the duration of the shift
-Must be able to work in a noisy and crowded environment
-Ability to learn and manage various programs including emergency response system, crowd control, lost children, alcohol program, etc.
-Experience in a security or crowd management role
-Experience working with the general public in a service-oriented role
-Non-Canadian residents must hold a valid work permit expiring no earlier than October 2024
-Successful completion of customer service training (e.g., Super Host, Hospitality training) and/or training in assisting the special needs public is an asset
-This is an onsite role at Rogers Arena in downtown Vancouver
