HVAC TECHNICIAN

Do you like to install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems? Apply today and play a vital role in being responsible for the maintenance of the HVAC systems. Your attention to detail, efficiency, and teamwork will contribute to the overall success of the Wall Centre.

What your day will look like:
• Perform installations, general repair and maintenance of HVAC systems and building equipment for properties under management by Wall.
• This position is responsible for training the maintenance team as directed by management. Including taking on an apprentice.
• Flexible availability is required: Monday – Friday with the occasional later start, will occasionally be required to work on weekends and be on call in case of emergency.
• Assist other maintenance staff by completing building repairs and servicing, as required.
• Travel between properties under management by Wall to perform service calls.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature generally is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10ºF) and boiler rooms (+110°F), for one hour or more.
• Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 5 hours per day. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
• The worker is subject to noise: there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the surrounding noise level.
• Subject to vibration: exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
• The worker is subject to hazards: includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
• The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions: one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation.
• The worker is subject to oils: there is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
• Must be able to exert well-paced mobility in limited space and to reach other locations of the hotel on a timely basis.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
• Bachelor’s Degree or related technical school degree preferred.
• Prior field service work preferred.
• HVAC Journeyman certification (Red Seal) technician fully ticketed and accredited in Heating, Ventilation, and Cooling.
• Class B gasfitter and valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license.
• Proven understanding and operation of DDC systems.
• Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive to meet deadlines and accomplish company goals.
• Strong leadership skills and team player having the ability to collaborate well with others to solve problems and incorporate input from various sources.
• Excellent judgment, analytical, organizational, problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to apply knowledge to coach and mentor others.
• Ability to cope with change, active participation with leaders to generate company improvements.
• Ability to confront difficult circumstances in current and creative ways.
• High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.

Salary/Wage

$90,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
