Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, the Indigenous Ambassador position is responsible for enhancing
and maintaining cultural programs, and training, and is an active liaison with our owner communities,
indigenous stakeholders, and the Children’s society. This role will support the company’s Diversity, Equity,
Inclusion, & Reconciliation Committee.
 Collaborating with the marketing & other departments to develop and implement guest programs to
enhance the resort’s indigenous tourism programming
 Develop and implement employee training to support the resort’s indigenous tourism programming
 Build relationships and partnerships with existing Indigenous tourism businesses within the region
 Co-chair and collaborate with the Diversity, Equity, Including, & Reconciliation committee
 Work closely with department managers to create a local indigenous cultural representation, such as but
not limited to; menus, artwork, language, etc.
 Create and maintain a self-guided tour of the historic Mission building and grounds.
 Create and maintain a weekly artisan’s summer market and other special events.
 Seek out new ways to promote and showcase local indigenous culture.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

 Must have completed High-school education or equivalent
 Post-secondary education an asset, preferably in the field of business, tourism, or indigenous relations
 Preference will be given to candidates that have experience with indigenous tourism and businesses.
 Experience in the indigenous tourism sector an asset
 Experience in a hotel or resort workplace is an asset

Salary/Wage

$50,000-$60,000
