Job Description
Reporting to the Front Office Manager in the new position of Manager on Duty/Relief Night Manager, works alongside Guest Services team to ensure a smooth delivery of customer service and to exceed guest expectations in accordance with brand standards. The Manager on Duty/Relief Night Manager works a variety of shifts including mornings, afternoons and night shift and assists in overseeing the overall administration of the Front Office Department and Bell Desk.
The scope of the position:
- Exercise leadership and provide support to team members while promoting work efficiency and productivity.
- Participate in the development and implementation of strategies for Front Office, Bell Desk, parking, etc. that support the achievement of the Hotel’s goals.
- Create the first impression by supervising the main entrance, lobby, bell, parking, and Front Office areas.
- Actively engage in managing guest satisfaction and resolving guest issues.
- Effectively maintain the departmental database, filing system, and inventory.
- Participate in the development and implementation of processes and procedures for assigned departments that support achievement of service and financial goals.
- Produce regular reports using in-house property management system and Microsoft Office.
- Analyze reports in order to develop an informative database for decision-making and to communicate upcoming business throughout Hotel.
- Analyze business forecasts and schedule shifts accordingly.
- Ensure that Front Desk handles billing and cash in accordance with hotel standards.
- Plan and co-ordinate hotel housing activities by working closely with Sales & Catering and Housekeeping.
- Monitor and championing the Radisson Reward program.
- Ensure seamless transition during shift changes by developing and implementing processes for shifts to communicate with one another.
- Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service.
- Assist with orientation and training for new team members.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or related supervisory work experience
- An overall understanding and experience in Front Office Operations
- Experience with Opera and Medallia is an asset
- Strong use of Microsoft Office
- Basic knowledge of computer systems
- Must be eligible to work in Canada, candidates without current Visa or work permits will not be considered.
- Must live in the Greater Vancouver Area
