Job Description: Part time, permanent. Night shift (3-5 shifts per week).
Wage: $17/hour + ~equal cut of tips

Who are we:
“The Flapper Lounge” is a prohibition era cocktail lounge celebrating Flapper Girls. For those that don’t know, Flapper Girls were rebels who rejected the idea that women should uphold society’s morals through temperance and chastity. They were trailblazers who cut their hair, smoked cigarettes, drank whiskey and wore their skirts above their knees (Myrvang, 2015). They were changemakers…and the inspiration behind this concept! The Flapper Lounge is part of our party hall – themetrohall.com. You’ll be one part of a bigger team and priority will be given to those candidates who are interested in picking up occasional banquet shifts where needed as both teams will be expected to back each other up where needed.

We’re opening in the next couple of weeks and we want you to join our dream team.

We’re hiring for the following positions:
• Line cook
• Bartender
• Server

The three of you will be working together to create an exceptional customer experience. Making decisions together, backing each other up, helping each other out and working towards common goals that include:

• Embracing the Flapper Lounge vibe & brand
• Providing friendly customer service
• Serving delicious food, hot
• Serving tasty, unique and Insta-worthy cocktails
• Meeting recipe standards consistently for customers on every visit
• Taking ownership to ensure that all workplace and regulatory standards are being followed around food safety & sanitization, liquor policy, workplace safety and defined job duties.

Because this is a new concept, a flexible approach is a must. You get to be on the ground floor and give input to make the experience the best it can be, but with change also comes a few challenges. Your positive attitude will go along way to supporting the team and the concept.

• Good command of spoken English
• Evening and weekend work
• Must be 19+ as we are a liquor licensed facility and handling of liquor will be required.
*** Prior experience in your preferred role is a must.

Certifications:
The following certifications are required:
• Food safe level I
• Serving it right certification
