If so, there is an exciting opportunity awaiting you as the People and Culture Manager (PCM) at Manning Park Resort (MPR). Reporting to the General Manager, the PCM is an individual who understands what motivates, engages and discourages people. You are an excellent communicator with knowledge and experience regarding current labour laws, health and safety practices, policy development and implementation, as well as identifying talent. You are an “outside the box” thinker looking for new ways to achieve desired outcomes and seeking an opportunity to put your stamp on a rising organization.

Manning Park Resort is a year-round resort located between Hope and Princeton, BC. If you are ready to leave the hustle and bustle of city life, and enjoy outdoor fun and adventure, this is a great place to work.

This is a year-round position, and we are looking to support the right person looking for a long-term career opportunity. With a salary in the $65,000-$70,000 range, plus free private housing worth approximately $18,000 in value, and other extended benefits, this is a compensation package valued at $90,000.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities include: (but not limited to)

* Continue to develop, refine and support the existing recruitment, training, recognition and retention strategies

* Support and be involved in MPR’s hiring, onboarding and off-boarding procedures

* Work with Managers on payroll oversight for staff hours; liaison with Accounting Manager for payroll processing and cross-referencing of payroll deductions

* Assist in enhancing workplace environments to increase employee satisfaction and exceed guest expectations

* Manage staff conflicts, including mediating and resolving issues such as bullying and harassment in the workplace

* Lead the Occupational Health and Safety committee to ensure current compliance and expanded initiatives

* Manage the extended health benefits plan for salaried staff

* Work with Department Managers on seasonal and year-round hiring requirements

* Assist in further creating the culture of MPR being a preferred employer

* Work with our Staff Housing Manager to oversee staff housing assignments

* Manage the P&C Coordinator and their daily/weekly tasks

* Represent MPR on the Canada West Ski Area Association’s HR Committee

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

* A minimum of 3 years in a Human Resources/People & Culture role

* Experience using Payworks would be an asset

* CPHR designation, or an education in HR practices is a bonus

* Ability to work as part of a team or independently to meet resort needs

* Excellent communication skills, as well as excellent problem-solving abilities
