The Hooded Merganser is seeking passionate and dedicated Line/Prep Cooks to join our culinary team. The ideal candidates will have a love for cooking, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will play a crucial role in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to ensure our guests have an exceptional dining experience.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

– Meet deliverables set by the Hooded Merganser’s Executive chef
– Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
– Assist in the preparation of ingredients for service
– Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations
– Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and healthy environment
– Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and timely dish preparation
– Assist with inventory management, including tracking ingredient levels and placing orders when necessary
– Ensure proper storage of food items and adherence to expiration dates
– Participate in daily and weekly kitchen cleaning tasks as assigned
– Stay updated on menu changes and daily specials to provide guests with accurate information
– Other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

– A minimum of 1 year of culinary experience
– Must hold a valid Food Safe certificate
– Ability to push, pull, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds
– Possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
– Excellent multitasking and effective time management skills
– Efficient and organized with attention to detail
– Strong communication and problem-solving skills
– Flexible schedule

Salary/Wage

$17.40-$21.00 per hour
