As the lead destination management organization for the Central Okanagan, Tourism Kelowna works on behalf of 400 local businesses and an entire tourism community to generate overnight visitor demand that economically benefits Kelowna and its surrounding areas.  Join Tourism Kelowna’s Community & Visitor Engagement team, become part of Central Okanagan’s vibrant tourism industry, and help residents and visitors experience the incredible things our community has to offer. We are searching for a vibrant, customer-focused individual to join our team in the position of Retail Specialist. Reporting to the Director of Community & Visitor Engagement, the position of Retail Specialist is a key resource in telling a sense of place and representing the brands in the retail location at Kelowna International Airport (YLW). Shifts will vary and may include evenings, weekends, and weekdays.

The successful applicant will have the following key responsibilities:

Stock, merchandise, and sell retail goods and products at YLW retail location;
Sell products through applicable POS system;
Maintain adequate product knowledge for all store products;
Maintain organization of retail storage room;
Assist with Tourism Kelowna’s YLW retail program including storefront restocking and merchandising;
Ensure organization and cleanliness of YLW retail location.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Work Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience required;
Retail experience preferred;
Experience working within the tourism and hospitality industry is an asset.

Education:

Minimum of a high school diploma.
Applicants must have a valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Weekend availability is required.

The successful applicant will be required to pass Transport Canada security clearance.

Salary/Wage

$19.00 per hour
