Job Description

• Assist the Director of Ski Operations with guiding helicopter skiers/snowboarders
• Perform safety orientations, including hazard awareness
• Assemble and inspect necessary supplies and equipment, such as radios, transceivers, shovel packs, etc.
• Wildlife management and reporting
• Plan ski routes for the day for their group
• Lead and accompany individuals and/or groups while advising on safety and emergency measures, techniques, and the use of required equipment
• Provide instruction for skiing route selection and safety measures around the helicopter
• Advise guests on specific regulations, following environmental safety guidelines, and prevent violations
• Provide first aid in emergency situations
• May prepare meals for group
• Attend morning & evening guides meetings
• Fill out daily reports related to ski operations (e.g., daily ski report, wildlife observations, vertical lists, avalanche observations, etc.)

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Experienced Heli-Ski Guide (4+ years’ experience)
• Certified Ski Guide or Mountain Guide (Level 3 Canadian Ski Guide Association or international equivalent preferred)
• Avalanche Professional (CAA Avalanche Operations Level 2 or international equivalent)
• Advanced First Aid Attendant (80+ hours)
• Level 3 Canadian Ski Instructors Association or international equivalent (Level 4 preferred)
• Demonstrated ability in guiding in mountainous terrain
• Demonstrated knowledge of the MWHS tenure terrain, to include the Rockies, Cariboos, and Monashees

Salary/Wage

$277-$490 per day
