We are looking for a passionate, outgoing, hard-working, nature-loving individual to join our rockstar team of tour guides! We take groups of international students to the most desirable places in Western Canada, including, but not limited to, the Rocky Mountains, Whistler, Victoria, Tofino, and Seattle and Portland in the USA.  A high percentage of our clients are international students from around the globe and they are here to improve their English and experience all of the wonders Canada has to offer.  Our goal is to provide them with the greatest experiences during their time in Canada, and memories that will last a lifetime. You may be required to surf, ski, jump in a freezing lake, host a campfire telling true ghost stories while cooking s’mores, ride a raft on a class 3 river, hike a trail in an ancient rainforest, jump off a bridge with a rubber rope attached to your feet, stalk a black bear from a river jet boat, search for killer whales, explore dark unlit caves, pick fruit and drink wine, milk a cow, teach a group what Eh! really means. Company Description:

Discover Canada Tours is a division of UNIGLOBE Specialty Travel Ltd. The primary objective of Discover Canada Tours is to provide affordable travel programs that will enable international students and visitors to Vancouver and the lower mainland to learn more about Canada, practice their English, meet new people; and most importantly, to have fun!

While under continuous development, our travel program is currently comprised of tours to the Rocky Mountains (4 days), Tofino (2 & 3 days), Victoria (1 & 2 days), Whistler (1 & 2 days), Seattle/Portland (1-3 days), River Rafting (1 and 2 days), and Wine Tours (1 and 2 days).  The majority of tours are scheduled over the weekends.

Other Responsibilities Include:

  • Efficiently maintain prepared tour schedule
  • Passionately deliver commentary and stories to passengers throughout the tour
  • Ensure the safety of all tour passengers
  • Observe and follow all by-laws and rules of the road
  • Daily vehicle safety inspections and completion of driver & vehicle reports
  • Handle cash and sell activities / tickets
  • Connect with people and maintain relationships
  • Report directly to Tour Supervisor
  • Attend staff meetings and parties
  • Available on weekends and holidays and every weekend throughout the summer months

Job Requirements

  • Possession of a Class 4 Driver’s license is mandatory; clean driving record; capable of driving large vans and small buses; knowledge of NSC, HoS and USDOT regulations is mandatory
  • A passion for Canada and our wondrous landscape
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems and respond to changing conditions or unexpected events
  • Awareness of safety issues
  • Skill at budgeting time and money
  • Ability to speak a second language is an asset – please indicate the language(s) which you can converse in on the cover letter
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Knowledge of history and geography of BC is an asset
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with unforeseen difficulties
  • Additional entertainment skills, for example musical abilities is a big asset, but not required

  • Possess leadership qualities
  • Enjoy working with diverse groups of people
  • Passionate to show off your country


  • High School Diploma is required
  • Degree or Diploma in a tourism program is an asset but not necessary
$15/hr with minimum 3 years experience and valid Class 1, 2 or 4 licence
