Coast Tsawwassen Inn, owned and operated by Century Group. A newly renovated, premium all-suite hotel, offering 90 comfortable and spacious rooms, banquet rooms, an indoor pool and fitness room. Consistently rated #1 in guest satisfaction and rated one of the finest hotels available within Coast Hotels.

Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Banquet Cook will be responsible for assisting in quality, quantity and presentation of all foods preparation, while/or participate in creating and maintaining a positive work environment and maintaining high internal/external customer service standards. This is a regular part-time position with progression to become full-time.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Executive Chef, this position is responsible for:

  • Ensure the quality, quantity and presentation of all foods prepared and cooked, meets our hotel standards for freshness, appearance and consistency
  • In conjunction with the Chef ensures correct daily requisitioning, receiving, storage and rotation of food are carried out
  • Prepares and cooks food as outlined in the menu descriptions
  • Ensure adherence to food safety regulations, hygiene, and cleanliness in all food preparation and storage areas
  • Monitor and minimize energy consumption and ensure targets are met with respect to containment or reduction
  • Promote Health & Safety awareness and comply with all Health & Safety Standards
  • Hold regular departmental communication meetings to resolve any problems or concerns and educate employees
  • Represent The Coast Tsawwassen Inn in a positive and professional manner to guests, colleagues and the community through involvement in professional associations
  • Provide back-up cover for the Executive Chef

Job Requirements

Qualifications: 

Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

  • 2-3 year experience working in a banquet kitchen with culinary skills
  • FOODSAFE Level 1, WHMIS, and a Hepatitis A vaccination
  • Inter-Provincial Trade Qualification (Red Seal) is a bonus
  • Must have own initiative and a 'to do' attitude
  • Self-motivated team player with demonstrated interpersonal skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking, multi-functional team environment required
  • Demonstrated superior customer service required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English is essential
  • Available to work a variety of shifts, days, evenings, weekends, holidays
