We would love to have an experienced Chef/Cook join our management team for Carmens Restaurant and the Ramada Convention Centre. We have had excellent chefs who have moved on and we are now looking for a qualified candidate to fill this position. Our previous chefs and our current cooks have brought the quality of food up to a very high standard in this industry. We serve a 60 room hotel for breakfast and dinner, open 7 days a week. We have proven to be very successful with catering in house to a capacity of 225 people and out catering to very large events in Williams Lake! Williams Lake has some very motivated and energetic people who organize and bring events to our city. It is exciting for any caterer to be included in submitting bids for any extra events. We appreciate the opportunities and would like to have someone join us who would be instrumental in making these a part of our catering services. We want someone who would like to help create and give 110% to every meal and menu preparation for hotel guests, our city residents and those who come in for events. This position would require you to successfully separate and manage a combined budget for the restaurant and the catering. You will need to create menu items, weekly or monthly specials, and maintain inventory and quality control. Plate and platter presentations for both venues. Schedule and supervise kitchen staff, this includes WCB requirements for health and safety regulations in the kitchen, ensuring compliance. Develop staff work schedules weekly based on forecasted productivity needs, conduct staff meetings with Carmens Restaurant Manager. Daily kitchen and staff duties to be followed through with training where needed. We would also like someone who is flexible and can modify recipes to meet customer requests. We want all staff to excel in their level of expertise and work well together, this could be through coaching and encouragement. The person hired must maintain a high standard of personal integrity and professionalism at all times.
Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook.
Hands on experience with kitchen equipment.
Leadership combined with Motivation and Communication Skills.
Advanced knowledge of culinary, baking and pastry techniques.
Skilled at time management for restaurant cooking and catering banquets.
Sanitary Regulations for proper food storage and food preparation is extremely important.
