Job Description: 

Emelle's Catering Ltd is a multi-faceted catering company that serves large banquet events & weddings, provides corporate catering throughout the lower mainland, and operates a bustling café from our Mount Pleasant home base. We currently have an opening for an experienced, energetic, personable & talented Event Catering Salesperson to contribute to our success!

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Development of existing client base – generation of new leads, resulting in increased sales
  • Proposal development – including budgeting & follow-up
  • Liaise with the Client to determine needs, make appropriate suggestions to suit requirements
  • Produce Function Sheet for catering orders
  • Invoicing – issuing & follow-up
  • Co-ordination with Operations Team Leader: delivery scheduling, ordering of product, equipment tracking
  • Compile event administration forms & equipment lists
  • Assist in booking of offsite catering team
  • Deliveries as required
  • Site Inspections and client tastings if required
  • Contact & supervision for onsite catering as required
  • Assistance in Café & Operations as required
  • Evening lock-up as required

Qualifications and Skills

  • Hospitality, catering or event sales experience
  • Office administration experience
  • Positive & friendly attitude with excellent guest service & sales skills
  • You are a proactive, organized, creative thinker with the innate ability to prioritize, multi-task, set goals & meet deadlines
  • Flexibility to ever-changing environments
  • Keen eye for detail with an ability to ensure quality & excellence in deliverables
  • Solid oral & written communicator
  • Motivated self starter with a willingness to work within a team
  • Computer proficient – MS Office, QuickBooks & Database
  • Valid class 5 BC Driver’s License
