Job Description

Kumsheen is looking for a Bartender to join our team of energetic, adventurous, and friendly staff. This is a great opportunity to work & live in one of the most beautiful areas in BC, at an incredible family-run adventure resort.

Our restaurant and poolside bar is open seasonally from late-June until early-September, and we are looking to fill the Bartender/Cocktail Server position for those months. The Poolside Bar opens just before our rafting trips return to the Resort for the day and most rafting guests like to visit the bar to unwind and reflect on their day of adventure. It’s a very positive environment.

In addition to providing outstanding service in the Cutting Board Restaurant and Poolside Bar, our servers/bartenders are key ambassadors for Kumsheen Rafting Resort. Successful servers will work on building a rapport with guests and express keen interest in the details of their experience at the resort. 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Daily Tasks include (but are not limited to):

  • Daily opening and closing of the Gazebo Bar
  • Completing daily cash reconciliation
  • Regular cleaning and sanitization of all work spaces
  • Creating drink specials with the FOH Manager
  • Completing weekly orders and inventory as directed by the FOH manager
  • Maintaining all areas around the Gazebo including the patio chairs and storage fridges, and ensuring drinks are do not leave licensed areas
  • Mixing drinks for guests of both the Gazebo and Restaurant

Job Requirements include:

  • Previous experience in Hospitality/Tourism, previous bartending or serving experience is an asset
  • Receptive to feedback 
  • Able to work well individually and as part of a team
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize to achieve efficient service
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours
  • Good knowledge of wine & wine pairing
  • Good knowledge of mixology 
  • Second language an asset

Must have Serving it Right certificate or be willing to obtain one. 

Salary/Wage

$17.40 per hour plus gratuities and great perks!
