Boasting 236 elegantly appointed rooms and suites coupled with 5,000 square feet of functional meeting space, The Victoria Marriott is consistently ranked the number one full service Marriott in Canada for overall guest satisfaction.

We are currently recruiting for the position of Guest Services Associate. This Front Desk position involves a variety of duties including but not limited to:

  • Welcoming the guest upon arrival.
  • Registration of guests including all administrative aspects such as verifying information and processing guest billing and payments.
  • Identifying guest needs and proactively working to handle all requests.
  • Responding to all guest problems and concerns.
  • Ensuring that the guest expectations are met by delivering quality guest service in a prompt and professional manner while recognizing that each guest is unique.
  • Contributing to the team work atmosphere within the hotel and to the ongoing improvement in delivery of quality service at the Front Desk, At Your Service and Concierge Departments.

The Front Desk Team demonstrates a daily commitment to excellence by providing professional and memorable experiences that put people first.

Job Requirements

Qualifications: 
  • Previous hotel experience in a similar position is an asset.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to practice and maintain consistent key standards.
  • Demonstrated computer skills.
  • Sales and up-selling skills an asset.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be neat in appearance.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of Victoria/Vancouver and surrounding areas.
  • Ability to work in a Team oriented environment.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work a range of hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Must be an effective listener.
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Knowledge of Marriott brand standards.
  • Post-Secondary education is an asset
