Human Resources Administrative Assistant (6 month contract)

The Capilano Group (CGC) comprises retail, accommodation and attraction businesses including Moraine Lake Lodge and Cathedral Mountain Lodge near Banff, Alberta and Stanley Park Operations (Stanley Park Pavilion, Stanley’s Bar & Grill, Prospect Point Cafe and Gift Shop) and Capilano Suspension Bridge Park in the Vancouver area.  Capilano Suspension Bridge Park (CSBP) is nationally recognized as a best business, innovator and leader in Canada’s tourism industry.

The Human Resource Administrative Assistant works within the HR department to support the Capilano Group leadership teams with Human Resources related administrative tasks. They assist with job descriptions, job postings, employment paperwork & entry to payroll system, uniform distribution and administrative needs to support the Capilano Group. Administrative duties will include; maintaining accurate, up-to-date HR filing systems and personnel records, and drafting reports. This is a great entry-level position with the opportunity for growth and career development.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains external recruitment sources, attends job fairs and networks with local schools
  • Schedule and conduct sign-ons (on-boarding), ensures all necessary forms are completed and submitted
  • Maintain employee filing system, HR forms and supplies
  • Prepare and distribute memos and other communications from HR
  • General administrative duties (ex. filing and sorting paperwork)
  • Coordinate CSBP team member fittings, review appearance guidelines
  • Maintain uniform stock for CSBP by ensuring inventory, tracked and returned
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Qualifications: 
  • Diploma in Human Resource Management or Business Management or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience
  • Previous experience working in HR or performing HR administrative work
  • Min 2 yrs. experience in a guest service environment
  • Strong knowledge of Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Worker Compensation Act and other Employment Legislations
  • Experience handling confidential issue,
  • Must be extremely proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel
  • Experience with InDesign, considered a strong asset
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
