Great Bear Lodge is seeking a highly motivated candidate to work as the Lodge Chef at our ecotourism lodge on the central coast of British Columbia. We host people from around the world to see the grizzly bears of the Great Bear Rainforest. The lodge is small, accommodating 16 guests, thus providing a very personal experience.
Job Description:As Lodge Chef, you will have the primary responsibility for preparing meals for the guests and staff. The quality of food at Great Bear Lodge is characterized as ‘wilderness gourmet’ and is an essential part of the experience. This position offers the unique opportunity to work in the area of ecotourism while living in a spectacular wilderness setting.
Your duties as Lodge Chef include:
· Preparing and serving delicious and well-presented lunches, snacks and dinners for 16 guests.
· Preparing nutritious lunches for 8-10 staff.
· Kitchen clean-up and management of food storage areas.
· Ordering food and supplies and maintaining inventory.
· Fostering a harmonious and productive team atmosphere.
We are a small team and occasionally you will be called upon to assist with other tasks that are outside of your job description.
