Lakes, vineyards, wineries, craft breweries, hiking, biking and a myriad of water sports are just some of the nearly endless recreational opportunities in the City and area. Travel Penticton is the Destination Marketing Organization covering the City of Penticton and immediate surrounding area and is responsible for promoting travel to the area from external markets and welcoming them when they arrive.
We are seeking a talented and capable individual to join our team as Member & Visitor Services Coordinator. With consideration to the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting changes to the tourism business climate, Travel Penticton must evolve and modify positions within the organization to reflect the current business situation and best serve the Membership and Organization. As such, the positions of Member & Visitor Services Coordinator has been blended into one position.
The positions will run concurrently with the role of the Member Services Coordinator focused primarily from mid-September through to the beginning of May and the Visitor Services portion focused primarily on prime visitor season operations April through September. There will be some overlap of the positions throughout the year.

The Member Services Coordinator is responsible for organizing and developing Membership initiatives and relations for Travel Penticton, a Membership based organization. Under the direction of the Executive Director, this well organized, self-motivated and personable individual will liaise with current and prospective Members through regular contact, manage the Membership database and oversee Membership customer service opportunities and processes. They will also assist with various marketing and administrative projects as required and report to the Executive Director.
The Visitor Centre Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operation of the Travel Penticton Visitor Centre, assisting visitors by providing information, as well as supervising and scheduling staff and carrying out administrative functions. This position requires a personable, organized, motivated and flexible individual who often performs the same tasks as a Visitor Information Counsellor, but must divide their time between those duties and the duties of planning, facility operations and appearance, management, scheduling, training, retail stock procurement, inventory control & pricing, POS systems, grant applications, COVID-19 Safety Plan protocols and staff supervision.

Strong knowledge of MS Office and database programs

Knowledge of POS and SQUARE sales systems
· SuperHost an asset
· Significant knowledge and experience in the tourism industry
· Strong knowledge of Penticton and area tourism products, attractions, trails etc.
· Superior communication skills for both public, business and inter-team
· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, cleanliness and COVID-19 Safety Plans
· Able to work varied hours and weekend days as required
· Motivated and keen to motivate others, maintain a fun and efficient work environment
· Maintain a professional work ethic and conduct
· A valid and clean abstract driver’s license
· Some moderate lifting and tent/display set up is part of the positions' responsibilities
