Job Description:

  • Conduct scheduled daily inspections on all related equipment prior to daily operation, throughout the day, and post-operation.
  • Ensure the safety of all persons participating or in the vicinity of activities and report any unsafe acts or conditions to your Supervisor.
  • Ability to lead fun, varied, safe and informative bike rides.
  • Knowledge of mountain bike maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge of emergency Wilderness First Aid procedures and the ability to react calmly, quickly, and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Take personal responsibility for the maintenance, repair and security of STSAC equipment and the satisfactory appearance of Sea to Sky Adventure company sites to ensure the meeting of staff and guest safety
  • Ability to effectively communicate with guests of all ages, management, and other staff.
  • Able to work independently and on own initiative.
  • Ability to work well within a team and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ensure that all equipment is secured throughout the day and before you leave the area.
  • Give out advice to our guests who are learning or mountain biking for the first time.
  • Be prepared to move between different STSAC locations according to operational needs of the business to fulfil your contractual end date and be flexible in your job role, willing to assist in all other duties, within reason, as requested by your manager according to training you have been given.

Must haves:

  • Ability to lead fun, varied, safe and informative bike rides.
  • Knowledge of mountain bike maintenance and repair.
  • Current wilderness first aid certification (minimum 40hrs)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with guests of all ages, management, and other staff.
  • Able to work independently and on own initiative.
  • Ability to work well within a team and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Second language an asset (Spanish, French, German. Mandarin, Cantonese)

Job Requirements

Qualifications: 
  • PMBI certification or related certification/experience
  • Wilderness First Aid certificate valid for the duration of the contract
  • Unrestricted class 4 driver’s license
  • Experience of mountain bike guiding off road
  • Experience of technical bike maintenance
  • Previous customer service experience
