Job Description:
Prestige Hotels & Resorts is looking for a full-time person to work within their dynamic, hospitality environment. Reporting to the Controller, you will use your strong organizational and technical skills to manage the day-to-day activities of this role. This will include but not be limited to:
- Maintaining and updating employee information, such as records of employee attendance, leave, and overtime to calculate pay and benefit entitlements
- Preparing and verifying statements of earnings for employees, indicating gross and net salaries and deductions such as taxes, garnishments, and insurance and benefit plans
- Preparing, verifying, and processing all employee payroll-related payments, including regular pay, benefit payments, and special payments such as bonuses and vacation pay
- Preparing payroll-related filings and supporting documentation, such as year-end tax statements, Records of Employment, and other statements
- Compiling, reviewing, and monitoring statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts
- Preparing and balancing period-end reports and reconciling issued payrolls to bank statements
- Identifying and resolving payroll discrepancies
- Administers and manages employee benefits for all employees
As a member of the finance team you will also have other duties including:
- Maintaining and balancing various general ledger accounts
- Posting journal entries and reconciling accounts
- Completing and submitting tax remittance forms, workers’ compensation forms, pension contribution forms, and other government documents
- Preparing other statistical, financial, and accounting reports
- Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Experience in payroll administration
- A background in financial accounting
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Simply Accounting or a similar accounting program
- Strong communication skills
- A desire to provide excellent service to employees, clients, and suppliers
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

Salary/Wage:
$45,000 to $55,000 per year
