We are currently recruiting for the position of Sales, Marketing and Event Coordinator. Under the direction of the Director of Sales, the Sales, Marketing and Event Coordinator will provide the necessary support and professional organization to a multi-discipline department.

This position involves a variety of duties including but not limited to:

  • Manage communications to and from the sales office promptly and with proper business etiquette.
  • Support Director of Sales & Marketing, Sales Managers and Event Manager.
  • Develop and execute Social Media Strategy (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter).
  • Create and implement contests and other user engagement tactics.
  • Create and maintain social media content calendar (supporting the Brand’s Social Playbook guidelines), for the hotel and outlets.
  • Develop and deliver internal and external communications.
  • Pre-qualify all incoming or brand/third party sales leads and distribute to the correct sales managers.
  • Assist in all areas of problem resolution with internal and external customers. 
  • Provide pre/post-event reports.
  • Upsell on rooms and catering.
  • Work with and stand in for Event Manager as needed.
  • Conduct site inspections when needed and welcome clients and visitors to the sales office with a friendly and positive attitude.
  • Attend client events, fam tours and entertainment as required.
  • Client interaction including confirming event counts and details.
  • Assist Sales Team with creating Proposals, Contracts, Banquet Event Orders and other documents.
  • Create and distribute daily, weekly and monthly reports.
  • Create resumes and manage the weekly Group Resume meeting.
  • Sales office management and organization.
  • Communication between the sales office and hotel operations team.
  • Actively participate in sales meetings.
  • CI/TY (Consolidated Inventory/Total Yield – a Marriott proprietary system) Champion. Master CI/TY – Run daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports. 
  • Complete all sales system training with a score of 80% or higher.
  • Take on projects and assist DOSM as required.
  • Ongoing maintenance of customer and event detail in multiple systems.
  • Manage group room blocks and traces.

Job Requirements

Qualifications: 
  • Minimum one year experience in a similar hotel environment - Sales, Revenue, and Events preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite knowledge – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • CI/TY experience would be considered an asset.
  • Basic graphic design skills and experience with Social Media (Business) platforms preferred.
  • Flexible schedule that allows for work outside of office hours at times to meet deadlines, attend client functions etc.
  • Post-secondary education in marketing, sales or business administration.
  • Possess an understanding of marketing channels, social, digital and traditional.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team oriented, multi-tasked environment.
