Snow School Manager/ Snow School Assistant Mangers/Snow School Supervisors and LeadhandsPosition Details:
We are currently seeking seasonal full time Ski & Snowboard Instructors for the 2019 -2020 winter season to teach within our Snow School, Mountain kids, and school groups programs. Instructors will also assist in the Adult and seasonal programs as required. This position starts early December 2019 and ends early to mid-April 2020 (conditions and business volumes permitting). You can expect up to work 6 days a week during busier periods. You will engage our clients with integrity and passion at all times by providing exceptional Guest Service.
To teach ski and snowboard lessons to guests of all ages and abilities. You will teach ski and snowboard lessons in Mountain Kids, Adult Snow School and Group Lesson programs.
· Maintain coaches logs and reports for seasonal programs
· Set up of outdoor terrain signage and interactive learning area
· To act as an Ambassador for Mt. Washington and the Industry as a whole.
· To assist in other department operations such as Rentals, Sales and Events when required
· Attend daily meetings and check-in
· Attend all lesson line-ups
· Assist the daycare staff with sign-ins and daily operations including supervised snack time
· Cleaning of the pro room
· Shoveling of stairs and entryways, updating the shovel logs
· To participate in regular coaching sessions to:
o Help increase our level of professionalism
o To help you, the Instructor, achieve your next level of certification
o For overall skill improvement
o To have fun on our skis and boards
Wages (Full Time):
Level 1: $14.55 – $15.75
Level 2: $17.85 – $18.50
Level 3: $20.35 – $21.50
Level 4: Depending on experience – discussed during interview process
The instructor is expected to adhere to the policies of Mount Washington Alpine Resort and the Snow School. Mount Washington Alpine Resort is an exciting destination offering unique alpine experiences to its visitors all year round. During the winter Mount Washington Alpine Resort boasts the deepest all natural snow base in Canada. Skiers and snowboarders have 1,600 acres of terrain to choose from (20% easier, 35% intermediate, 45% expert) including 400 acres of advanced terrain on the backside of Mount Washington.
The slopes are serviced by 10 lifts including Canada's first double offload quad accessing the Outback, a high speed six pack lift and a high speed quad. The Cross Country area offers 55 km (33 miles) of track set and skate groomed trails partially located within Strathcona Park. There is even lift service for parts of the Nordic trails. Our winter season runs from early December to mid April as conditions allow.
During the summer, scenic chairlift rides carry you to the summit of Mount Washington (1588 m) to take in the panoramic alpine to ocean view. Hike the bark mulch trails when you've reached the top or begin your excursion into Strathcona Park from the Paradise Meadows trailhead located by Mount Washington's Raven Lodge. For those looking for some high flying fun, try our bungee trampoline that will bounce you high into the air in complete safety.
We offer an ever developing trail system for lift accessed downhill mountain biking with the Hawk High Speed Six Pack and the Eagle Express carrying you up the mountain with ease. Our summer season begins in mid June and mountain biking opens mid July as soon as trail conditions permit. Summer operations will run until September.
