Our guests are always at home at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. As a Turndown Attendant, you will create a restful space for our guests to return to at the end of the day – and you will take pride in knowing that your thoughtful attention to detail makes them feel valued.

Hotel Overview:

Fairmont Empress is the destination in Victoria, located in the centre of Victoria's sparkling Inner Harbour. Our 464 room hotel with beautiful turn of the century architecture complements our warm and engaging service of turning moments into memories for our guests. This is an amazing opportunity to join our team as we embark on major renovations and repositioning.


  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Clean all assigned guestrooms including: dusting, making beds, removing soiled linen from rooms, retrieval of clean linen from linen closets, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, inside window cleaning, replenish rooms with supplies
  • Maintain proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Update and record all cleaned rooms
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures and service standards
  • Report necessary maintenance items
  • Afternoon & Evening Shifts
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Proven ability to work well unsupervised, at a fast pace while maintaining quality standards
  • Commitment to provide excellent service and exceed guests' expectations
  • High School diploma, vocational training and/or 1 year work experience
  • Good working knowledge of the English language
  • Previous experience in luxury hotel environment desirable
  • Impeccable grooming and presentation Must physically be able to:
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Carry objects weighting up to 75lbs (including pushing equipment)
  • Stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, bend, twist, push, see, and hear
  • Must be comfortable speaking to guests

Note: The position of Turndown Attendant is physically demanding. The successful applicant must be physically capable of performing repetitive work and standing and walking long periods of time. Lifting requirements up to 50 lbs and carrying of objects weighting up to 75lbs (including pushing equipment). Must be able physically able to stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, bend, twist, push, see, and hear. Must also be comfortable speaking to guests.

Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $21.51 /hour
