The Wilderness Stewardship Foundation is located in the South Chilcotin Mountains in British Columbia, Canada. Our goal is to educate the public to become stewards of our wilderness environment, and we aim to accomplish this by developing environmental research and training programs in the fields of resource management and environmental stewardship.
Our mission is to facilitate endless opportunities for personal growth and self-development, and we achieve this by developing wilderness stewards who are committed to inspiring the public and our partner organizations to become stewards of the wilderness and natural resources within our region, and worldwide.
Ensuring the implementation of the foundation’s mission and objectives
Coordinating stewardship and resource management projects
Developing citizen science projects for the collection of wildlife data
Data collection and analyses
Responding to consultations and referrals
Organizing the recruitment and involvement of research
Organizing meetings with relevant stakeholders
Conveying progress, issues and challenges to the board of directors
Project-managing ongoing stewardship and resource management projects, planning future projects and securing funding for the foundation’s projects
Road deactivation: planning and initiating with different stoke holders i.e First Nations, Logging Companies and Ranchers
Completion of land plans, with wildlife, bird and fish management
Research of wildlife studies, which support the policy of regulation and management of wildlife.
At the WSF, we focus on methods that will inspire individuals to improve performance, accept personal responsibility, and work toward the overall success of their work and life.
