Whistler Athletes’ Centre, located in Whistler’s Cheakamus Crossing neighbourhood, provides comfortable nightly and long-term accommodation for athletes, teams, sport clubs and other groups looking for affordable accommodation in Whistler. True to its mission to grow sport, no other accommodation facility in Whistler provides the level of accessibility and amenities for athletes of all sports, close to key training and competition venues in the Sea to Sky region.

Lodge Attendant is responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness at the Whistler Athletes’ Centre including the Lodge, Townhomes and High Performance Centre. This role is organized and friendly and works well within a team while demonstrating the Whistler Sport Legacies’ philosophy that All Interactions Matter (AIM).

Regular Full Time position requires flexibility to work weekends and evenings

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Lodge Attendant
• Daily cleaning of rooms and washrooms; maintain high standard of cleanliness
• Ensure all common spaces are well maintained on a daily basis
• Daily restocking of all housekeeping supply and linen rooms; report any shortages for reordering purposes
• Remove all dirty linens and garbage to their designated areas
• Document all damage or deficiencies, including mechanical and electrical issues to the Manager/Supervisor
• Label and submit all lost and found items to the Manager/Supervisor immediately
• Clean High Performance Centre offices and public spaces weekly and after events/meetings
• Provide a high level of guest service including being courteous, helpful, knowledgeable and informative
• Foster a strong culture of health & safety to ensure all WorkSafeBC and Technical Safety BC requirements are met
• Monitor and assist in general up-keep and cleanliness of guest areas, including washrooms, guest service reception, and all other guest areas on site.
• Ensure all equipment and supplies for guest operations indoors and outdoors are functioning, stocked and replenished as required.

• Assist team with other duties as assigned or required

Kitchen Porter duties as assigned
• Frequent quick and efficient cleaning of food preparation areas, eating areas, and equipment, in addition to tableware and cutlery cleanliness in accordance with regulations
• Keep work surfaces, dishwasher and sink areas, walls, and floors clean and sanitized

• Store and ensure all kitchen ware is organized and stored
• Empty garbage and recycle bins regularly and as needed
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is in good working order and advise Supervisor of any deficiencies
• Remove soiled or dirty kitchen linens to lodge laundry
• Regularly inspect fridges/freezers/storage shelves and bins to ensure cleanliness and food storage is optimum
• Accept all kitchen deliveries and ensure items are properly stored

Position Requirements
Education/Experience
• High School education an asset
• May be required to complete an RCMP background check

Skills
• Possess a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance
• Focused on providing a consistently high standard of customer service
• Ability to perform physical tasks on a daily basis
• Proven ability to work well as part of a team
• Ability to easily follow standard procedures
• Keen and can-do attitude
• High level attention to detail required
• Willingness to assist other team members (perhaps outside the department) as needed and requested
• Passion for exceptional customer service is essential

Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to perform physical work including bending, lifting, standing, pushing and pulling of housekeeping carts

Salary/Wage

$20.50 per hour
