About the Role
As the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at Long Beach Lodge Resort, you will lead shifts and oversee the guest experience in collaboration with the Senior F&B Supervisor. Your passion for hospitality, knowledge of our exceptional food and beverage offerings, and familiarity with the resort will inspire the team and contribute to making the Great Room, SandBar Bistro, and our catering services the preferred dining destinations in Tofino—for both guests and staff. You will ensure that product and service standards are upheld across all meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, après surf, and dinner.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the highest level of guest service by consistently exceeding expectations and building guest loyalty
Supervise daily F&B operations, including shift briefings, section assignments, shift changes, bill discrepancies, and end-of-shift cash remittances
Serve the floor as needed to support the team and ensure smooth, efficient service during busy periods or staffing gaps
Oversee food service and assist as an expeditor when needed to ensure timely delivery of orders
Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members to enhance service standards and professional development
Assist in issuing performance-related documentation, including letters of expectation and recognition
Serve as a communication bridge between the leadership team and frontline staff by addressing questions, resolving workplace concerns, and fostering collaboration across all resort departments to support an exceptional guest experience.
Assist with F&B staff scheduling, maintaining cost-effective labour practices
Support payroll functions including gratuity reconciliation, accuracy checks, and adjustment management
Order supplies as needed and assist with monthly inventory to maintain operational efficiency and support service demands
Manage guest concerns with professionalism and follow up to ensure service recovery and satisfaction
Ensure team members are knowledgeable about all food and beverage offerings, including menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and garnishes
Manage and utilize F&B and guest service software including Silverware, OpenTable, and GuestX to support daily operations, reservations, and guest experience tracking
Promote health and safety, green practices, and emergency procedures among staff
Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Hotel/Restaurant Management is an asset
2-3 years leadership experience in F&B service, preferably in a hotel environment
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous always
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
Comprehensive knowledge of fine food wines and service
Computer literacy is imperative including MS Office and POS System, preferably Silverware
Serving It Right certification required
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and be active for up to 10 hours per shift
Able to lift up to 50 lbs
Frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing, and pulling
Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
Staff Housing
Limited staff accommodation may be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Availability is not guaranteed. Shared accommodations include access to kitchen facilities, laundry, and Wi-Fi. Priority may be given to full-time staff or those without local housing options.

Driver’s Abstract: Required for roles involving use of company vehicles or driving duties.
Signed Staff Manual Agreement: required as part of onboarding, confirming understanding of workplace expectations and policies
