Job Description

Bell 2 Lodge/Last Frontier Heliskiing is currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to fill a full-time, year-round position as Assistant Maintenance Manager. Bell 2 Lodge operates as Last Frontier Heliskiing during the winter season and as a hotel during the spring, summer and fall months.

The Assistant Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading maintenance systems, overseeing the continuous improvement of the Lodge and executing long-term strategic plans. Operating in a remote area requires troubleshooting on the spot, being a motivational team leader, and making crucial decisions in times of action.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities and Duties :

Inspecting all major systems in the buildings (generator, sewage treatment plant, kitchen equipment, hot tub, mechanical equipment) and completing corresponding logs
Assisting the Maintenance Manager with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department
Hire, schedule, train, supervise and motivate employees for the maintenance department
Ensuring paperwork is accurate, up to date, and properly organized and filed; and Assisting in the submission of status reports, purchase orders and scheduled maintenance reports.
Help in the planning and execution of special projects.
Oversee and ensure completion of preventative maintenance schedules for the various areas.
Capable of managing a team and delegate tasks on a daily basis.
Preferred skills and core competencies are:

Proven track record of infrastructure management including water treatment, waste water management, remote lodge power generation, hot tub, small vehicles.
Experience operating equipment, such as backhoe loader, skid steer, chain saw, log splitter, etc.
General electrical, mechanic, refrigeration, plumbing, carpentry skills.
Experience working with contractors and coordinating renovation projects.
Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair. Critical thinking required.
Certification or related experience in facility management.
Strong data collection skills.
Being physically fit and able to lift at least 50lbs.
Ensure health and safety policies are complied with
First Aid Level 3 an asset
Class 5 Drivers License is required

Other Perks/Benefits

Shifts are three weeks on and one week off working ten hours days. Transfers to and from Terrace on weeks out are available. Accommodation and meals are provided for all employees while on rotation. Flights not provided.
