Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic individual to help with collection management, developing exhibits and interacting with the public. Our successful candidate will develop skills in archiving, creating exhibits, and programming for youth. A keen interest in preserving history and a background or interest in education would be valuable. This position starts in May and runs to the end of August. We have some flexibility with dates.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Job Duties Include:

Cataloguing, documentation, research, social media posts, exhibit development, and assisting staff, volunteers and visitors as requested by management. This will include some light cleaning duties as well as some assistance with admissions and sales.

Only short listed candidates will be contacted. Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 30 and have been full time students preceding the work term, and be returning to school full time in the fall of 2024.

Our candidate will need a working knowledge of:

Microsoft Office – Word and Excel, photo editing software, computer operating systems, scanners, printers, camera or phone camera

All applicants are welcome but preference will be given to students with a background or strong interest in history, museums, education, arts and culture, and indigenous studies.
