Job Description

The Barking Parrot Bar Manager will be able to oversee a team of servers, bussers, and bartenders, as well as the daily and weekly functions required to run the bar efficiently. The manager will ensure customers have a positive experience and employees are set up for success.

Responsibilities:

– Meet deliverables set out by the General Manager (GM) or Assistant General Manager (AGM), as well as reporting all incidences via logouts or reports (i.e.: injuries and security or HR concerns)
– Department administration such as, but not limited to, reporting, budgeting, inventory, project management, performance management, payroll, etc.
– Complete interviews and hiring including, but not limited to, validating references and resume details, and completing and filing personnel paperwork; communicate all employee change of status with GM for approval
– Complete all employee training including, but not limited to, all company policies as described in the employee handbook, liquor laws and licensing, food safety requirements, daily tasks and duties, and service excellence
– Adherence and enforcing liquor lows as per our liquor license, ensuring regular review and updates are completed as necessary
– Manage schedules and staffing to ensure appropriate service levels, maximize work week, and manage performance, following corrective disciplinary actions as required
– Maintain a flexible schedule and be willing to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays
– Participate in creation of and review menus regularly (food and drink) with allergy guides and appropriate costing; ensure they are kept up to date, including online
– Ensure regular review and updates completed as necessary for food safety plans to minimize, reconcile or eliminate liabilities when possible
– Respond to all business related phone calls, emails, and feedback (online or in person) in a professional and timely manner
– Create and foster business relationships with suppliers and vendors that keep up with industry trends
– Event creation, planning, budgeting and execution, including defining and ensuring completeness of marketing objectives
– Continuously innovate and develop product items to ensure quality and profitability
– Ensure order requests are completed on time to support product sales without carrying unnecessary on hand inventory
– Maintain a professional appearance for self and team, with a leadership attitude
– Ensure venue and equipment are fully functional, clean and maintained
– Communicate and work with other departments in a clear, consistent, and effective manner to ensure an understanding of hotel occupancy and events
– Willingness to participate on company committees
– Participate and complete training as needed to maintain skill sets relevant to the position
– Other tasks as assigned

Responsibilities & Qualifications

– Experience with food service and/or bartending
– Strong leadership ability
– Excellent multitasking skills and effective time management
– Efficient and organized with attention to detail
– Strong customer service and problem solving skills
– Must hold a valid Serving It Right certificate
– Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite programs

Salary/Wage

$52,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
