The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for bringing extraordinary events to life with the operations team to ensure client satisfaction is exceeded, proactively soliciting catering and event business resulting in profitability, achievement of revenue goals.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Solicit and book Banquet and Catering functions resulting in customer satisfaction, profitability, and maintain client/customer retention.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Solicit new accounts and review past accounts to generate new and repeat business.
Liaise with banquet team to ensure exceptional service while groups are in house.
Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
Write banquet menus, memos, and send out amenities for VIP Guests.
Ensure BEOs and group resumes are distributed to internal stakeholders a minimum of two weeks prior to the event.
Review and revise weekly events sheets and banquet event orders.
Formulate and revise annual and monthly forecasts. Accurately forecasts estimated revenue from each booking.
Negotiate, prepare, and write contracts and enter information into the automated sales system (CITY).
Interact with clients to determine needs and direct associates accordingly.
Respond to telephone and walk-in inquiries of potential guests.
Drive special events, theme creation to generate revenue when banquet space is available.
Meet client on site to kick-off all events, ensure event is smoothly handed over to banquets team once event begins.
Servicing of all groups, to ensure optimal revenue generation, client and event satisfaction including, but not limited to menus, all event and catering details, rooming lists, transportation.
Responsible for ensuring all group and catering details are correctly reflected in sales and catering system, including but not limited to group blocks, attrition, catering requirements. 
Ensure collection of deposits, billing and final invoice is completed.
Ensure timely follow up on all past groups with focus on securing repeat booking.
Respond to leads within company standard timeline.
Maintain compliance with all health and safety protocols and serving of alcohol in accordance with liquor license guidelines.
Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear directions to all associates.
Lead banquet event order (BEO) meeting, attend training sessions, and departmental meetings as required.
Ensure deposits and scheduled payments are secured and processed.
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis, to include having a presence at events, weddings, evenings, and weekends, while meeting clients and supporting team members.
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Tour and inspect banquet and meeting space daily, reporting necessary repairs.
Represent hotel at tradeshows as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have the ability to communicate in English in verbal as well as written communication.
Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
Always maintain a professional appearance and manner.     
Can communicate well with guests and team members.
Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
Knowledge of a hotel structure and how all departments interact, and corporate culture.
Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner, to solicit business, meet client needs and resolve complaints.
Ability to self-monitor all job-related duties while working off-site (remotely).

 

Minimum Requirements

• Previous hotel sales manager experience (5 years preferred)

• Experience in CiTY Application Software (2 years preferred)

• Strong Technical skills related to detailing groups, meetings, and events.
• Ability to win others over through confidence, experience, and demeanor.
• Leads sales initiatives, catering, and events in the absence of the Director of Sales and Marketing
• Generates quality work and upholds high standards.
• Knowledge of Hotel Systems
• Ability to maintain a pleasant work environment without conflict.

*Attractive Salary & Benefits Package*

Annual Salary Range :- 60,000 – 64,000 (Based on Experience)

Salary/Wage

60,000-64,000 depending on experience
