Job Description

Imagine arriving to work at a stunning slope-side hotel after a round of golf or a hike in the wildflowers. We are looking to recruit Concierge Team members for the upcoming winter. We are seeking Concierges who will pair excitement and commitment to excellent service. As a member of the Guest Services team, you will deliver creativity and innovation and feature exploration of the culture and spirit of Sun Peaks. As a critical guest-facing role within the lobby team, this role is well-positioned to maximize value in every guest interaction, delivering authentic experiences. This role will develop knowledge and strengthen the successful candidates’ professional experience, opening internal and external opportunities for advancement throughout the Tourism/Hospitality industry. Responsibilities & Qualifications

Physical Class:

Medium: Work activities involve handling loads between 10 and 20 kg; Predominately indoor setting

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Accountabilities:

Responsible for delivering a range of guest-facing services seamlessly and professionally, including, but not limited to:
Conducts a pre-arrival process to contact all future guests to arrange services for any guest requests, such as mountain activity ticketing, dining reservations, shipping packages, and transportation needs, along with researching vendors and service providers
Delivering the pre-arrival requests to in-house guests, ascertaining preferences, and providing insightful recommendations
Building authentic individual connections with guests wherever possible to drive loyalty and referrals
Handles all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible
Assists guests in all inquiries concerning hotel and resort services, hours of operations, in-house events, directions, etc
Provide collateral and information on restaurants, attractions, activities, and maps
Responds to all guest requests in an accurate and timely manner. Interactions with guests will be in person, by phone, and by email
Provides essential troubleshooting support for in-room services such as internet, TV movies, and Web service
Work in complete unison with Front Office and Reservations teams to deliver a “Best in Class” arrival/departure experiences and unique service experiences for all guests during their stay
Always maintains a sense of lobby presence and guest assistance, supporting the Front Office and acting as a Lobby Ambassador
Answer the telephone with a pleasant manner and approved verbiage, directing calls appropriately
Other duties as required
Ideal Candidate:

Proven experience as a Concierge or Front Desk, minimum 1-year experience
Experience in a hotel setting or related industry is required; resort experience ideal
Post-secondary education in hospitality or related discipline
Recognized designation as CHC or membership Les Clefs d’Or is a vital asset
Extensive familiarity with the Sun Peaks community with established connections is a benefit
Strong in quickly building relationships with others, a genuine connector
Energetic with a confident, positive attitude, driven to deliver elevated guest experiences
Professional and well organized with excellent communication skills in English, multi-lingual is a vital asset
Ability to deliver results and promote innovation in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
Highly responsible self-starter and reliable team player, with the ability to remain calm
Aptitudes in resolving issues and ability to think on your feet
A working knowledge of hotel systems, specifically Opera PMS, would be a substantial benefit
Proficiency with computer systems required, such as Microsoft Windows applications
